Federal financial assistance is available to those who qualify in the forms of Direct Stafford Loans or Pell Grants for those who qualify. Grants, such as the Federal Pell Grant, do not have to be paid back and are based on financial need. Unlike grants, loans must be paid back. Depending on the type of loan (subsidized or unsubsidized) you may or may not have a grace period on the interest.
To find out if you qualify for Direct Loans or the Federal Pell Grant, fill out the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at FAFSA.ed.gov.
Before filling out the FAFSA, you will need to create an FSA ID, which you can do here.
Use the following federal school codes when filling out your FAFSA:
Frederick, MD Campus: E02175
